Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center
Friends Pet Pantry
We know that pets are beloved members of the family. By providing pet food assistance to Norfolk pet owners our goal is to make it possible for pets to stay in a loving home together with their families. Responsible pet owners facing personal hardship and financial challenges may have to make a hard choice between feeding their families or feeding their pet. Some owners faced with this difficult decision may be forced to give up their animal companions to local animal shelters.
The Pet Pantry was established by the Friends of Norfolk Animal Care Center in 2011 as part of a pet surrender prevention program. As an extension of our community outreach program FNACC and NACC have together developed a new monthly “Mobile Pet Pantry” event at 3 anchor Norfolk public libraries. Look for NACC’s mobile adoption van Waggin’ Wheels where city residents can come by and pickup dog or cat food and discuss their pets long term health care needs. The goal is to create accessible and informational events for members of our community.
